Denver Office Local Resources Some Area Attractions

![]() DenverUrban design and planning are a major focus for the Denver office, including The Commons, the 60-acre transformation of former downtown rail yards, and redevelopment of the former Gates rubber factory site as a mixed-use, transit-oriented community. The office's new community planning practice includes innovative and sustainable designs for both Eastern Hills and RidgeGate in suburban Denver. A specialty in parks and open space work has produced unique solutions for neglected spaces in the Lowry redevelopment in Denver, while campus planners have established design guidelines for the extensive Fitzsimons bio-medical facilities east of the city. Located on the western edge of the Great Plains, Denver is the largest city in the American Rocky Mountain region. The city is a mile high (over a mile, actually) and is a clean, young and green city with dozens of tree-lined boulevards. The city has the largest park system in the nation, with 205 parks inside city limits and 20,000 acres of parks in the nearby mountains. Moreover, the area is rewarded with sunny skies nearly 300 days a year, which squashes any myths of it being a land of harsh weather. The Denver office is lead by four Shareholders/Principals, Rebecca Zimmermann, Todd Johnson, Jim MacRae, Jeff Zimmermann and Principal Eliot Hoyt.
