New Communities

We are community designers capable of revitalizing neighborhoods, restoring their economic health and preserving their nature, history and culture, as well as guarding the financial well-being of developers and those who invest and live in their communities. Addressing the cultural, economic, social, political and physical characteristics of each project helps to define a single overall framework for orderly development. Often, the reuse of sites is complicated by real or perceived environmental contamination, inadequate or non-existent infrastructures, minimal transportation, and public controversy. Our planning expertise, augmented by our advisory services in market analysis, financial-feasibility studies, development strategies, and development management, gives us the ability to define and resolve the complexities inherent in creating a great community.

On each project, Design Workshop explores the full range of possibilities, proposes optimal strategic direction, presents thoughtful solutions, and fosters multi-party collaboration. Our proficiency allows us to reconcile diverse priorities, achieve timely approvals, set standards for long-term stewardship of the land, and increase financial return. We are disciplined to complete projects on time and on budget without sacrificing the high quality our clients demand. At every point in the development process – from concept through implementation – we are fully cognizant that market realities and the natural attributes of a site must combine to meet the objectives of our client and needs of the community.

We have successfully developed and redeveloped properties throughout the world since our inception in 1969.
