Lewisville Transit Oriented Development and Mill Street PlanLewisville, TexasDesign Workshop was retained by the City of Lewisville to create a transit-oriented development master plan in anticipation of the new passenger rail opening in 2010. In addition, the City retained Design Workshop to create conceptual streetscape designs for the major corridors connecting to the transit station including Mill Street and Main Street. Mill Street, is the north/south corridor connecting into downtown Lewisville. This is a significant corridor as it is the key entry into the community from the south and Interstate-35 and eventually connects to Lewisville Lake to the north. These improvements will include wayfinding and signage, lighting, street trees, vegetation, sidewalks, plazas, on street parking, pedestrian amenities, buffering and public art. Material life cycle costs were considered in this design xxx. In addition, the plan will address off street parking, redevelopment, reducing curb cuts and impervious surface, and utilities. |
