Design Workshop Announces New LEED® Green Associates

Denver, CO – Eliot Hoyt, Todd Johnson, FASLA and Glenn Walters, all principals of Design Workshop, have recently added Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Green Associate (LEED® Green Associate) to their credentials.  Joining the 21 accredited LEED® professionals at Design Workshop, Hoyt, Johnson and Walters all passed the rigorous exam administered by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) and developed by the U.S. Green Building Council, (USGBC). Such certification indicates a life-long commitment to environmental stewardship and is a milestone in Design Workshop's professional development plan.

Eliot Hoyt joined the Denver office in 2004 as a member of the Strategic Services team. Originally trained as an anthropologist with a B.A. from Harvard University, Hoyt has worked in and for cultural institutions for 15 years. As a Real Estate Research Market Analyst, he has worked on Market studies for resort developments in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and the Front Range of Colorado. Hoyt has also analyzed markets in Calgary, Canada related to golf course development; in central Texas related to residential development; and in Denver related to new community planning. In addition, he has worked with clients to analyze their corporate culture and has provided research on trends related to the Internet and the real estate industry.

Todd Johnson, a Partner with Design Workshop and licensed landscape architect, has devoted his career to planning and designing inspiring and memorable places through collaborative efforts with clients and other consultants. His experience in designing landscapes and public spaces that stimulate the gathering and exchange of ideas is balanced by understanding natural systems to connect people to people and people to nature in successful and sustainable ways. Todd's specialty in urban design has resulted in many notable projects, including: Riverfront Park in Denver; Kierland Commons in Phoenix, Arizona; the reinvention of a 650-acre corporate office park in Chester County, Pennsylvania; and the master plan for Fitzsimons Bioscience Park in Aurora, Colorado.

Glenn Walters is a licensed landscape architect in the firm's Asheville, North Carolina office. Walters has over 20 years of experience in creative land planning, landscape architecture, and real estate development in North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Hawaii, Arizona, Las Vegas, Pennsylvania, California, Idaho, Oregon and Colorado. His development experience combined with his landscape architecture and planning background enables particular insight into open space networks, urban design criteria, street connectivity, and place-making principles. Glenn holds a BLA from the University of Georgia and an MLA from Penn State, where his thesis work was focused on Environmental Assessment for the Site Design Process. He is currently working with the City of Morgantown, West Virginia on an urban design vision for its downtown that includes new development sites, open space connectivity and urban design guidelines.
