LOS ANGELES — Design Workshop welcomes Brett Miller to its Los Angeles studio as a Senior Landscape Architect. With nearly two decades of combined experience in landscape architecture and construction, Miller brings an exceptional blend of technical expertise, creative vision, and a deep understanding of the Southern California landscape to the firm.
“Brett’s arrival is a major step forward in our vision for our Los Angeles studio and our broader West Coast strategy,” said Robb Berg, President of Design Workshop. “His knowledge of the local market, paired with his proven leadership and collaborative mindset, will elevate every aspect of our work—from design innovation to team culture.”
At Design Workshop, Miller will play a central role in supporting major West Coast initiatives, including restoring Topanga Lagoon, one of Southern California’s most ecologically significant coastal systems, urban design commissions in San Diego, and numerous residential projects across the region. He will also lead mentorship efforts within the Los Angeles studio and collaborate across studios to strengthen project delivery, cultivate new client relationships, and support business development throughout the region.
“Miller is deeply respected for his ability to guide complex projects from concept to construction. He’s known for balancing creativity with technical rigor, nurturing young designers, and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and communities,” added Berg.
Miller joins Design Workshop from RIOS, where he served as a Senior Project Director. His portfolio includes a diverse mix of urban open spaces, cultural and institutional landscapes, infrastructure-adjacent public realms, and complex environmental restorations—each informed by a passion for resilient design and a belief in landscape architecture’s power to shape better futures.
“Design Workshop’s commitment to both design excellence and meaningful impact aligns with my own professional values,” said Miller. “I’m excited to join a studio that’s at the forefront of shaping resilient, inclusive, and enduring places—not only in Los Angeles but across the West Coast.”
Miller is a licensed landscape architect in California and earned his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Louisiana State University’s Bachelor of Landscape Architecture program.
