Designing a pedestrian-focused community and connection to the outdoors

Cherry Creek West will be a vibrant, mixed-use neighborhood that creates a front door for Cherry Creek and offers the best of urban living with exciting places to work, engaging civic experiences, and authentic retail and restaurants that embrace the Cherry Creek waterway. This 13-acre development will be dedicated to people and the environment. It will be the social heart to an already thriving community that fosters recreation, health and safety, innovation and connectedness.

Working with East West Partners and collaborating the Gensler, Design Workshop is leading the vision for the development, which began with a focus on the public realm. Today the site is essentially devoid of pedestrian activity, consisting predominately of large surface parking lots and three large footprint buildings. By prioritizing how people will move through the site, we have created a connection to the creek, a variety of meaningful spaces and a logical path through the site whether someone is visiting or live and work here.
