Envision Shooks Run

Colorado Springs, Colorado

A rediscovered waterway becomes a catalyst for urban redevelopment

The Envision Shooks Run Corridor Master Plan began as an incremental infrastructure replacement and stormwater drainage project along an abandoned four-mile stream corridor. Under the leadership of an innovative and community-focused team and a grassroots public movement, it became a significant investment in the city’s future, integrating infrastructure, sustainability, economic development and a greenway corridor plan that will complete the Legacy Loop, an approximately 10-mile trail, park and recreation loop that encircles downtown. The re-imagined Shooks Run Corridor will provide multi-modal transportation options, a diversity of land uses and economic development approaches to influence future private and public partnerships in the heart of Colorado Springs.
